Thomas Fisher was born on November 29, 1906 in Pittsburgh, PA. His parents were immigrants from Greece, and his father operated a pool hall in Pittsburgh. He was their first child.

He graduated from college and became an actor in New York City. In his 1940 draft registration, he gives "Actor's Equity" as his employer. He enlisted on March 3, 1942, where his occupation is still listed as actor.

He was promoted to T/5 during his service, and discharged from the Army on September 22, 1945.

He died on October 10, 1976, leaving his wife Grace. He is buried at Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, NY.
