Glenn Mroch was born on August 21, 1924 in Chicago, IL; he was the older of two children. His father worked as a foreman in a steel mill and later as a plumbing supervisor.

In June, 1943, Glenn graduated from Farragut High School, on the west side of Chicago, where he played clarinet in the concert orchestra.

He enlisted shortly after graduation, on July 3, 1943. His son, Eric, reports that he was sent to Grinnell College in Iowa as part of the Army Specialized Training Program; at Grinnell this program was begun in July, 1943 for younger men selected by the Army on the basis of tests at army camps. He was later sent to Pine Camp in NY as the war escalated. There he became a member of the 3133 Signal Service Company, and served in Italy during the latter part of World War II. He may also have served in North Africa. Glenn was discharged from the Army on March 10, 1946 with the rank of T/SGT.

He married Charlotte Linhart on March 9, 1951; they would go on to have two sons: Eric and David, and the family made its home in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove, IL.

Glenn and Charlotte divorced when the children were young, and he moved to Lynchburg, VA shortly thereafter.

He married Virginian Louise Jamerson Wright on July 27, 1963; she was a divorced mother of two sons. The marriage license shows that he was working as an accountant at the time, and that the couple was living in Lynchburg.

Little else is known of his life or work. He died on December 1, 2002, and is buried at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, VA.
