"On August 18 I got a pass to Sharon Springs, N.Y. where Dad, Mom, and Al were staying for their vacations. I went there by Greyhound Bus ... I had a nice weekend at Sharon with the folks, and a happy one, since we now knew that it was only a matter of a short time until I would be home again."
