GALP Launches 2024 Fundraiser
Monday, November 20, 2023
The Ghost Army Legacy Project today launched its 2024 Fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of the year. As of December 20, we have raised 84% of our goal through 73 donations!
The soldiers of The Ghost Army used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and imagination to fool the Germans on the battlefields of Europe. Only 8 of the intrepid soldiers who carried out this bold mission are left. The Ghost Army Legacy Project is ensuring that these men and their accomplishments are never forgotten.
Our year-end fundraiser will power our 2024 initiatives
• Gold Medal Ceremony and Celebration in Washington DC
• Presentation of duplicate medals to surviving veterans
• Development of Ghost Army plaques in England/Germany
• Programming Support for Ghost Army exhibit which will be on display in Columbus, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri

Major 2023 Accomplishments
• We dedicated a brand-new historical marker in Luxembourg City. U.S. Ambassador Tom Barrett, Luxembourg Minister of Finance Yuriko Backes, and the children of two Ghost Army soldiers joined us for the celebration.
• We launched a revamped Ghost Army website, designed by Jim Infantino at Slabmedia. More than 13,000 people have viewed this new website since it went live.
• We added a collection of letters from George Daley and a history of the 406th Combat Engineers to the substantial primary source material on the website.
• We consulted on a new Ghost Army/Bill Blass display at the National Veterans Memorial Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
