Major 2024 Accomplishments
• Six hundred people came to the U.S. Capitol in March to celebrate the award of the Congressional Gold Medal to the Ghost Army. What a week, capping off a nine-year effort! Media coverage included stories from The New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post, PBS, ABC News, USA Today, BBC, ARD (Germany) and many others• We donated gathered and donated items belonging to Ghost Army soldiers George Daley, Ralston Collins, and Harold Skuldt to the National World War II Museum. This included photographs, uniforms, letters, maps, documents and Lt. Skuldt's nameplate.
• We continued adding new material to the website - we now have more than 500 soldiers' bios.
• We consulted on Ghost Army exhibits in Columbus Ohio and St Louis, as well as an upcoming one in Fort Wayne Indiana.
All our 2024 achievements were made possible by your enthusiastic support Thank you very much!
Our year-end fundraiser will power our 2025 initiatives!
In the wake of achieving the Gold Medal we have scaled back our fundraising goal - but there is still more to be done.
- Continuing development of the Ghost Army website
- Programming Support for the Ghost Army traveling exhibit.
- Support for student Ghost Army projects
- Collection and donation of more Ghost Army materials, bringing materials from families to museums to preserve the story.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 by December 31. Please Donate now to help us remember, preserve and honor what these men did during World War II.
