Ghost Army Exhibit to Appear Across the Country

CHICAGO, IL —The Ghost Army exhibit created by the National WWII Museum, with the assistance of the Ghost Army Legacy Project , will be displayed in three different cities over the next nine months.
The exhibit opens next month at the Museum at Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas. In September it moves to the New York State Museum in Albany New York. Then in January it will be on display at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma Washington.
“It is traveling coast to coast, and I am excited that many new audiences will be exposed to the Ghost Army story” said Rick Beyer, president of the Ghost Army Legacy Project.
The exhibit explores the story of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, the legendary WWII unit that used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and illusion to fool the Germans on the battlefields of Europe. It includes inflatable vehicles, artifacts from the unit, and artwork created by the soldiers who served in the 23rd .
The Ghost Army Legacy Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit supported by individual contributions. The mission of the Ghost Army Legacy Project is to advocate and honor the legacy of the Ghost Army unit through domestic and global initiatives and relevant historical and cultural connections.
