Madeline Christianson

Madeline Christianson is the great-granddaughter of Ghost Army veteran Staff Sgt. Stanley Nance. After learning about his service, interviewing other Ghost Army veterans, and taking Rick Beyer’s Ghost Army Tour, she participated in the National History Day competition. Her exhibit won the National WWII History Award. She also received the WWII Museum’s Billy Michael Student Leadership Award. At 14 years old, Madeline began lobbying Congress to award the Ghost Army the Congressional Gold Medal. She is currently attending Brigham Young University, studying Economics and Political Science, with hopes to continue to pursue public service and champion causes close to her heart.

Please Support Our Ongoing Efforts

The soldiers of The Ghost Army used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and imagination to fool the Germans on the battlefields of Europe. The Ghost Army Legacy Project is ensuring that these men and their accomplishments are never forgotten.
